Transpersonal (Regression) Hypnosis

REGRESSION • ALTERED STATES • THE DEEPER DIMENSIONS OF CONSCIOUSNESS

There are experiences in life that cannot always be understood by looking only at what is happening on the surface.

A recurring fear may seem disproportionate to anything you consciously remember. A relationship may carry an intensity that is difficult to explain. A pattern may repeat despite your best efforts to change it. You may feel drawn toward a particular place, period of history, spiritual tradition, person, or way of life without knowing why. Or you may simply have a sense that there is something deeper beneath the story you have been telling yourself.

Transpersonal hypnosis creates a different way of exploring those questions.

Through hypnosis, we deliberately enter an altered state of consciousness in which ordinary analytical activity can become quieter and other forms of perception, memory, imagery, emotion, symbolism, and inner experience may become more accessible. From there, the work can move backward through your present-life biography, into early childhood and formative experiences, and—when appropriate—beyond the ordinary boundaries of the biographical timeline into experiences that some people understand as prenatal, between-life, or past-life material.

The purpose is not simply to produce an extraordinary experience.

The purpose is to explore what may be meaningful within the experience and how it relates to the life you are living now.

WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT FROM GUIDED HEALING MEDITATION?

Guided healing meditation and transpersonal hypnosis can overlap, but they are not the same practice.

Guided meditation generally emphasizes presence, receptivity, contemplation, visualization, inner awareness, spiritual practice, and the cultivation of qualities that support greater wholeness. It can be deeply transformative without requiring an altered state or regression.

Transpersonal hypnosis intentionally uses hypnotic induction to facilitate an altered state of consciousness. Rather than simply relaxing and observing what arises, we can use the hypnotic state as a doorway into deeper exploration. The process may involve carefully structured questions, spontaneous imagery, sensations, emotions, memories, symbolic experiences, or movement through different points along your personal and transpersonal history.

In simple terms, meditation can help you become more deeply present to yourself.

Transpersonal hypnosis can help you explore what may be beneath the story you already know.

Sometimes the two approaches complement one another. But they serve different purposes.

HYPNOSIS AS A DOORWAY INTO THE INNER WORLD

Hypnosis is often misunderstood as something being done to you. In reality, the hypnotic state is a naturally occurring capacity of consciousness involving focused attention, absorption, and altered awareness. People enter variations of these states regularly while deeply absorbed in music, imagination, prayer, reading, daydreaming, or other experiences.

In a guided hypnotic session, I intentionally help you enter a focused and receptive state so that we can work with the material that emerges from within you.

You remain involved throughout the process.

You are not unconscious. You are not handing over control of your mind to me. You can speak, think, question, pause, stop, or change direction. The hypnotic state is not a surrender of personal responsibility.

You remain the one experiencing the journey.

My role is to facilitate the process, ask appropriate questions, maintain the structure of the session, and help you explore what emerges without unnecessarily imposing an interpretation upon it.

Hypnosis has also been studied in contemporary research for areas including pain, anxiety, gastrointestinal symptoms, and other mind-body applications, although evidence varies considerably depending on the condition and method being studied.

My use of hypnosis in transpersonal work, however, extends beyond symptom-focused applications. It is primarily concerned with exploration of consciousness, personal meaning, spiritual development, and the deeper patterns that may influence how we experience our lives.

REGRESSION: FOLLOWING THE THREAD

Regression does not necessarily mean going backward simply for the sake of remembering.

It means following a thread.

We may begin with something you are experiencing now—a fear, relationship pattern, recurring emotion, physical sensation, belief, conflict, longing, or unexplained response—and allow the hypnotic process to explore where that thread leads.

Sometimes it leads to something very ordinary.

A childhood experience. A family dynamic. A moment of embarrassment. A period of loss. Something you learned about yourself when you were young.

Sometimes it leads somewhere unexpected.

The process may reveal imagery, sensations, emotions, or experiences that do not fit neatly into your ordinary autobiographical memory. At that point, the work becomes especially interesting—and especially important to approach with discernment.

We do not have to decide immediately what something is in order to explore what it means.

THE BIOGRAPHICAL TIMELINE

One level of regression remains entirely within the life you know you have lived.

This may involve returning to childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, significant relationships, formative experiences, periods of transition, or other points along your personal history.

The objective is not to manufacture forgotten memories.

Instead, the hypnotic state may allow you to experience an earlier period from a different perspective, reconnect with emotions or perceptions associated with it, or explore how earlier experiences may continue to influence the present.

This distinction matters because hypnosis is not a truth serum. Research has demonstrated that hypnotic suggestion can contribute to distorted or false memories, and people can sometimes become very confident in memories that are not historically accurate.

For that reason, I do not treat everything experienced during regression as automatically factual.

An experience can be psychologically meaningful without being a literal historical recording.

That principle becomes even more important when regression moves beyond ordinary autobiographical memory.

BEYOND THE BIOGRAPHICAL SELF

For some people, regression eventually moves into territory that they experience as belonging to another time, another identity, another existence, or another dimension of consciousness.

This is where past-life regression enters the conversation.

If you already hold a belief in reincarnation, you may understand such experiences as memories or impressions carried across incarnations. If you do not hold that belief, you do not have to adopt it in order to participate.

The same experience might be approached through several different interpretive frameworks.

It might be understood as a perceived past life. It might be explored psychologically as symbolic material generated by the unconscious. It might be viewed through an archetypal or Jungian lens. It might represent a narrative through which the mind expresses something that is difficult to access directly. It might be approached as transpersonal experience without making a definitive claim about its historical origin.

And for some people, the reincarnation model itself may be the most meaningful framework.

I do not require you to choose one interpretation before the experience occurs.

The experience comes first. Interpretation can come afterward.

This is especially important because past-life regression remains controversial within psychology, and experiences arising during hypnosis should not automatically be represented as historically verified memories.

THE ENERGETIC CHAIN OF EXPERIENCE

One of the concepts informing my transpersonal approach is what I call the Energetic Chain of Experience: the possibility that consciousness can be explored as a continuum rather than being limited to the conventional story of birth, adulthood, and death.

Within this model, experience may be explored across different points of consciousness and existence: early childhood, prenatal or perinatal experience, the present-life biography, perceived previous lives, transitional or between-life states, and other experiences that may arise spontaneously within the hypnotic state.

This does not mean that every person will experience every level.

It does not mean that every experience should be interpreted literally.

And it does not mean that I will tell you in advance what you are supposed to discover.

The model provides a map for exploration, not a predetermined conclusion.

You may move through one level and find everything you need there. You may encounter material that feels entirely symbolic. You may experience something that you understand spiritually. Or you may encounter something that simply leaves you with a meaningful question.

There is value in allowing the question to remain open.

THE SPACE BETWEEN LIVES

For those who experience material that appears to exist between incarnations, the experience can be especially profound.

Some people describe encounters with a sense of transition, review, guidance, preparation, purpose, or connection with something larger than the individual personality. Others may encounter symbolic landscapes, beings, presences, or forms of awareness that are difficult to translate into ordinary language.

Within a reincarnation framework, these experiences may be understood as aspects of the soul’s journey between lives.

But again, interpretation matters.

I am interested in what the experience reveals about your current life rather than trying to prove a cosmology during the session.

If an experience seems to illuminate a recurring pattern, a relationship, a fear, a gift, a sense of purpose, or a way you have been living, that may be where the practical value lies.

The question is not only, “Was this another life?”

It may also be, “Why is this experience meaningful to me now?”

WHAT REGRESSION MAY REVEAL

Transpersonal regression may be explored in relation to many different experiences: recurring fears, phobias, relationship patterns, unexplained emotional responses, persistent guilt, feelings of disconnection, questions of purpose, spiritual alienation, recurring dreams, unusual affinities, or a sense that some part of your life story remains unresolved.

It may also be undertaken simply from curiosity.

You do not have to arrive with a problem.

You may want to understand yourself more deeply, explore the nature of consciousness, investigate an unusual experience, or simply discover what happens when you allow the mind to move beyond its ordinary boundaries.

The goal is not to search endlessly for something wrong with you.

Sometimes regression reveals a wound.

Sometimes it reveals a strength.

Sometimes it reveals a forgotten resource, a meaningful relationship, an aspect of identity, or a quality of consciousness that you are ready to reclaim.

FROM EXPERIENCE TO INTEGRATION

The regression itself is only part of the work.

What happens afterward may be just as important.

A powerful experience can be fascinating, emotional, confusing, beautiful, disturbing, or all of these at once. The real question is how it becomes integrated into ordinary life.

What did you learn?

What changed in the way you see yourself?

Did an old fear lose some of its power?

Did a relationship become easier to understand?

Did something you have carried for years begin to make sense?

Did you discover a quality within yourself that you had forgotten?

Did you simply become more comfortable with not knowing?

These questions bring transpersonal hypnosis back to the present.

The purpose of exploring consciousness is ultimately to live more consciously.

THE SOUL AND THE REGRESSION PROCESS

My own understanding of transpersonal work is rooted in the idea that the personality is not the entirety of who we are.

We have a biography, but we may also have a deeper dimension of identity that cannot be reduced to biography alone.

Whether you understand that dimension as soul, higher self, deeper consciousness, spiritual identity, or another framework, regression can provide an unusual opportunity to explore it.

Sometimes the experience feels like remembering.

Sometimes it feels like discovering.

Sometimes it feels like encountering something that has been present all along.

I do not need to tell you what your soul is supposed to mean.

I am more interested in helping create the conditions in which you can encounter your own experience deeply enough to begin forming that understanding for yourself.

WHAT MAKES THIS WORK DIFFERENT

I bring together hypnosis, regression, transpersonal psychology, spiritual practice, mediumship, esoteric study, and years of personal exploration of altered and spiritually transformative states.

But I do not approach regression as entertainment or as a search for dramatic stories.

A vivid experience is not necessarily a meaningful one.

And a quiet experience may change everything.

The work requires curiosity without gullibility, openness without surrendering discernment, and spiritual exploration without abandoning common sense.

I would rather leave a question open than give you an answer that I cannot honestly support.

YOU REMAIN THE AUTHORITY OVER YOUR EXPERIENCE

During regression, you may encounter something that feels completely real.

You may experience a person, place, lifetime, emotion, sensation, symbol, or state of consciousness with extraordinary vividness.

That does not mean that I will tell you, “This definitely happened.”

Nor will I tell you that it definitely did not.

Instead, we can explore the experience itself, examine what it may represent, consider different interpretations, and ask what relevance it has for your life now.

This is particularly important when working with childhood memories or material that appears to originate beyond the present life. Hypnosis can influence memory and imagination, which is why responsible regression work requires care around suggestion and interpretation.

Your experience deserves respect. Its interpretation deserves discernment.

TRANSPERSONAL HYPNOSIS IS NOT ABOUT BELIEVING

You do not have to believe in reincarnation.

You do not have to believe in past lives.

You do not have to believe in an afterlife.

You do not have to believe that consciousness exists beyond the brain.

You do not even have to believe that anything unusual will happen.

You can come with curiosity.

The process can be approached as spiritual exploration, psychological exploration, symbolic exploration, consciousness research, or some combination of these.

If your existing beliefs provide a meaningful framework, we can work within that framework. If you are uncertain, uncertainty is welcome.

You are allowed to explore without having to decide what you believe first.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

A session begins with conversation and intention. We establish what you would like to explore and consider whether regression is appropriate for what you are seeking.

The hypnotic induction then helps you move from ordinary waking attention into a more focused and receptive state. From there, the process is guided through open-ended exploration rather than a predetermined storyline.

You may experience images, sensations, emotions, memories, words, sounds, bodily awareness, symbolic scenes, or simply a strong sense of knowing.

I may ask questions, but I do not want to put answers into your mind.

You remain involved in the process and can slow down, pause, change direction, or end the exploration when needed.

Afterward, we take time to return fully to ordinary awareness and discuss what you experienced, what it may mean to you, and what—if anything—you want to carry forward.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will I definitely remember a past life?

No. There is no guarantee that you will experience anything that you interpret as a past life. Regression may remain entirely within your present-life biography, move into symbolic or transpersonal material, or produce no clearly identifiable narrative at all.

Do I have to believe in reincarnation?

No. Reincarnation is one possible framework for interpreting certain regression experiences, but it is not a prerequisite for the work. You can approach the experience psychologically, symbolically, spiritually, archetypally, or simply as an exploration of consciousness.

Are past-life memories real?

A regression experience can feel extraordinarily real, but vividness is not the same as historical verification. Hypnosis can influence memory and can increase confidence in inaccurate memories, which is why I do not present regression material automatically as factual historical evidence.

Can hypnosis recover forgotten childhood memories?

Hypnosis may bring forward memories, images, emotions, or associations, but it should not be treated as a guaranteed method for accurately recovering forgotten events. Memory is reconstructive and can be influenced by suggestion and expectation. We therefore approach childhood material with care rather than assuming that everything experienced under hypnosis is a literal recording of the past.

Can I be made to reveal something I do not want to reveal?

Hypnosis does not remove your capacity for choice. You remain an active participant in the session and can communicate, question, pause, or stop the process.

Will you tell me what my past life was?

I will not decide your experience for you. If material emerges that you interpret as a past life, we can explore it together. My role is to facilitate the experience and help you examine its meaning rather than impose a predetermined story.

What is the Energetic Chain of Experience?

It is a framework for exploring consciousness across different points of experience that may extend beyond the conventional biographical timeline. Depending on the individual, this may include childhood, prenatal or perinatal material, perceived past lives, transitional or between-life experiences, or other transpersonal states. It is a model for exploration, not a requirement or proof of reincarnation.

Can regression help with fears or recurring patterns?

Regression may provide a different perspective on recurring emotional or behavioral patterns, particularly when those patterns seem difficult to understand through ordinary conscious reflection. However, I do not promise that regression will resolve a particular condition or produce a specific outcome.

Is transpersonal hypnosis therapy?

My work is offered as spiritual and transpersonal hypnosis rather than as psychotherapy or medical treatment. It is not a substitute for appropriate medical or licensed mental-health care.

Is this the same as guided healing meditation?

No. Guided healing meditation emphasizes presence, contemplative awareness, imagery, spiritual practice, and inner development. Transpersonal hypnosis deliberately uses hypnotic induction and an altered state of consciousness to facilitate deeper exploration and, when appropriate, regression.

What if I don’t see anything?

That is completely acceptable. Not everyone experiences vivid imagery. You may experience sensations, emotions, thoughts, words, memories, symbolic impressions, or very little imagery at all. There is no performance standard.

What if something disturbing comes up?

We do not have to force our way through difficult material. The process can be slowed, redirected, or stopped. Integration and appropriate support matter more than completing a particular regression storyline.

What if I experience something that changes my understanding of my life?

That can be one of the most meaningful aspects of the work. We can explore the experience carefully and consider what it may mean without requiring an immediate conclusion about its ultimate origin.

What should I bring to a session?

Bring a question if you have one. Bring curiosity if you do not. You may want to explore a particular pattern, relationship, fear, spiritual question, recurring dream, or unusual experience. But you do not need to arrive with a perfectly defined objective.

THE INVITATION

Transpersonal hypnosis is an invitation to explore the territory beyond the familiar boundaries of the everyday personality.

Perhaps you want to understand something that has followed you for years.

Perhaps you are curious about reincarnation.

Perhaps you have experienced something you cannot explain.

Perhaps you want to explore a recurring pattern that seems deeper than your conscious mind can reach.

Or perhaps you simply want to know what happens when you become quiet enough, focused enough, and receptive enough to allow the deeper layers of consciousness to speak.

You do not have to know beforehand what you will find.

You do not have to decide beforehand what it means.

You only need to be willing to explore.

The journey is not about proving where the experience came from. It is about discovering what the experience may reveal about who you are—and how you choose to live now.
