Digital Transformation: Building a Modern Foundation for Membership, Engagement & Growth

The Vision
The National Association for Esoteric Healing (NAEH) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the understanding, education, and practice of esoteric healing.
As a member of the association’s Board of Directors, I welcomed the opportunity to contribute my professional expertise in digital strategy, website development, and project management to support an organization whose mission closely aligns with my personal commitment to healing, education, and service.
The objective was ambitious: to modernize the association’s digital presence, simplify membership administration, strengthen communication, and create a more engaging online experience for members and the wider community.
The Challenge
Like many membership-based nonprofit organizations, NAEH faced the challenge of maintaining an effective digital presence while working with limited administrative resources.
Its existing website and membership management arrangements presented opportunities for improvement in usability, efficiency, communication, and long-term sustainability.
The association needed more than a website refresh.
It needed a coordinated digital strategy that would support its members, reduce administrative complexity, and establish a scalable foundation for future growth.
The Approach
Beginning in October 2024, I undertook a comprehensive evaluation of membership management solutions, reviewing 11 platforms to identify the most appropriate technology for the association’s needs.
The evaluation considered functionality, usability, affordability, member engagement, administrative efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
Following detailed comparisons, vendor discussions, and strategic recommendations, Glue Up emerged as the preferred membership management platform.
I subsequently presented the proposed transformation strategy to the NAEH Board of Directors, which overwhelmingly approved moving forward with the recommended solution.
The project brought together two major initiatives:
1. A Complete Website Redesign
I led the development of an entirely new WordPress website, establishing a refreshed digital presence for the association.
The redesigned website provided a modern foundation for communicating NAEH’s mission, sharing educational resources, presenting membership opportunities, and connecting visitors with the organization’s activities.
The work included website planning, visual design, content organization, digital infrastructure, and the development of a more accessible and engaging online experience.
2. Implementation of Glue Up Membership Management
Working collaboratively with association leadership, volunteers, and technology partners, I helped coordinate the transition to Glue Up, a comprehensive membership management and community engagement platform.
The new platform brought together important organizational functions, including:
Membership administration and renewals
Member communications and engagement
Event registration and management
Membership payments and related administration
Member networking and community interaction
Digital resources and opportunities for knowledge sharing
The objective was to simplify routine administrative processes while creating a more connected and engaging experience for the association’s membership.
From Strategy to Implementation
Beyond selecting the technology, I helped coordinate the practical work required to bring the transformation to life.
This included vendor engagement, implementation planning, website development, project tracking, stakeholder communications, and collaboration with Board members and volunteers.
Using structured project management practices, we established priorities, coordinated responsibilities, monitored progress, and worked through the challenges associated with introducing new digital systems.
Within approximately three months of the implementation phase, NAEH had established an entirely new digital infrastructure, supported by a redesigned website and a modern membership management platform.
The Outcome
The first phase of the transformation delivered a significant modernization of NAEH’s digital infrastructure.
Key achievements included:
A completely redesigned WordPress website
The introduction of Glue Up as the association’s membership management platform
A more coordinated approach to membership administration, communications, and events
New opportunities for member engagement, networking, and knowledge sharing
A stronger digital foundation to support the association’s educational mission and future development
The transformation also established opportunities for continued improvement, including expanded educational content, enhanced member profiles, and further integration between the website and membership platform.
Technology in Service of a Meaningful Mission
What made this project particularly rewarding was the opportunity to contribute professional expertise to a cause I genuinely believe in.
For me, digital transformation is not simply about implementing new technology. It is about helping organizations work more effectively, communicate their purpose, and better serve the people who depend upon them.
NAEH’s transformation illustrates how thoughtful digital strategy, practical project management, and collaborative leadership can help a volunteer-supported nonprofit organization strengthen its foundations for the future.

I’m honored to have contributed my professional expertise to the National Association for Esoteric Healing through this volunteer initiative.
